Job summary:

The senior graphic designer is responsible for conceptualisation and implementation of design of solutions that meet marketing strategies from concept to completion. They have the designation of “senior” because of their authority in decision-making, and because they hold the lead role on projects and supervise intermediate and junior designer(s) in creating concepts, comps, layouts and final art.

Key performance areas:

• Overseeing all design projects, from conception to delivery.
• Receiving briefs, interpreting and establishing clients’ needs before designing.
• Creating templates, drafts and design specs for a company's design work
• Updating several websites – keeping content up to date, designing banners, resizing images, designing web layouts, updating pages and backend updates
• Digital Design – create and update digital assets for web; email; social; outdoor LED boards etc
• Web design – great UI and UX design knowledge is essential
• Design animated slideshows and digital assets using MS Office programs
• Reviewing (own and team) designers’ work to ensure high quality.
• Creating eye-catching layouts for effective branding
• Working independently on a variety of project simultaneously
• Understanding the use of colors, inks and paper qualities
• Maintaining print and vendor relationships and negotiating with external suppliers
• Discussing ideas to conceptualise designs
• Utilising visual and digital tools such as photographs, animation and images
• Ability to manage own workload including logging projects and activity
• Designing and producing in-house marketing collateral
• Producing promotional material for clients
• Work with internal teams to generate ideas for pitching and proposals
• Providing quality control over own work
• Following best practice with the design and creative team Working with other team members to deliver projects and activity to deliver against deadlines

Requirements:                            

Technical skills

• Adobe creative suite - Highly proficient in Adobe Suite and other creative software packages
• General computer literacy - Good working knowledge of MS Office software packages. Expert in designing slideshows in Powerpoint.
• Web content development (HTML; CSS Divi Wordpress etc) - Highly proficient in marking up content; developing and designing layouts and understanding basic web language, such as HTML and CSS.
• Video and animation - Proficient in working with video and producing animations, including Powerpoint slideshows.
• Graphic design - Familiar with and experienced in applying good visual design principles, such as good typography, good visual hierarchy, grid-based design and colour harmony.
