Duties and responsibilities:
Provide general LMS system administration.
Provide second-level support in the use of the UFS Learning Management System.
Administer audio and video files on BB Media.
Administrate Audio and video files on Medial.
Maintain the CTL Multi-Purpose Venues, ensuring all the equipment is working accordingly.
Conduct LMS testing on staging and production in line with SaaS release notes.
Provide second-level support to staff and students in the use of Turnitin.
Manage user access to the LMS.
Provide general support on the use of the LMS Module Registration System.
Assist with the enrolment of academic and support staff on the Learning Management System modules or organizations.
Assist with the bulk enrolment of students in modules and organisations where auto-enrolment is not activated.
Provide first-level support to both Learning Designers and Learning Developers regarding access and technical support using the Learning Management System.
Follow divisional procedures regarding the reporting and follow-up of technical problems and troubleshooting.
Maintain the system admin mailbox and ensure that queries are attended to and resolved or escalated where necessary.
Provide general administration support to the Learning and emerging technology manager.
Assist with projects relating to learning and emerging technology.
Arrange access to systems such as PeopleSoft and LMS Module Registration System.
Assist with training and development where there is a need.
Assist with the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
Participate in self-development activities to stay ahead of the latest trends relating to teaching and learning with technologies.
Provide general administrative and logistical support for various curriculum research projects.
Inherent requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or an advanced diploma/ BTech degree/ postgraduate certificate on NQF Level 7.
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in the use of a Learning Management System (preferably, but not limited to, Blackboard).
One (1) year experience in training or user support in the use of learning technologies (including an LMS).

Recommendations:
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a higher education environment.
Minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience relating to the duties and responsibilities.
Certification in LMS administration.
Assumption of duties: 1 August 2023 or as soon as possible.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package, including benefits, is R 354,408.50– R 444,721.26 per annum, depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
