Purpose of the role: As a people specialist, you will provide expert support in handling HR matters and giving support to our George operations. Your expertise will encompass various crucial aspects, such as administration, onboarding, recruitment, employee engagement and retention.
Qualifications and requirementsTo be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum educational requirement - Matric
- HR-related qualification
- Preferably experienced in recruitment
- Minimum of five years' relevant experience
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Responsibilities
In this position, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert knowledge and support to both employees and business managers across all areas of the people department
- Demonstrating strong recruitment and selection skills
- Building effective relationships with business managers and supporting them in all people-related matters
- Employing innovative selection methods to attract top talent
- Developing talent pipelines through efficient recruitment and retention strategies
- Promoting our company culture to ensure seamless integration of new employees
- Offering guidance on workplace discipline matters
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records using employee management systems
- Responding to employee queries and promptly resolving issues with professionalism
- Gathering and analysing data to derive valuable people metrics for informed business decisions
- Ensuring consistent and proper application of all people policies and procedures
Compliance: You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with all applicable acts and legal requirements within the people department. Moreover, you will align recruitment and talent management practices with our company's Employment Equity plans. Sound knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, and other relevant legislation will be essential.
