EXP, part of the Group Africa marketing group of agencies, is looking for an operations manager to join the sponsorship team working on a key client account. The position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of sponsorship properties managing projects, events and activations. A passion for football would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have the ability to lead and manage projects on a daily basis, delivering an efficient and effective service to clients which is profitable to the Agency.  A willing and enthusiastic attitude, the ability to be proactive, make a plan while considering the budget, get things done in the best interests of the client and the agency and a nature that thrives in a pressured, high-performing environment are key factors for the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• To maintain standards of pre and post-production and execution of projects to the high standards that the client expects
• Constant liaison with client service, regarding product related information and operational changes
• To have full understanding of clients business and keep up to date with clients’ marketplace and competitors
• To deal with and sign off all client issues regarding execution in the field
• To be innovative and pro-active and to execute in the most efficient and cost effective methods
• To prepare an accurate cost estimate that will be approved by manager and finance dept
• Prepare an accurate operations budget that will be signed off by manager and that will ensure that margins are achieved without compromising quality
• To develop a comprehensive operations manual
• To understand fully the client brief and to ensure the execution of the project is in line with this brief
• To know the financial status of projects at all times

Required:

• Minimum five years' experience in operations/project/event management 
• A background and a passion for football would be an advantage
• Agency and sponsorship experience
• Proven finance and budgeting experience
• Good management skills
• Good computer skills, especially on Excel and with numbers
• Ability to compose reports
• Ability to make a plan and get things done
• Work well under pressure
• Ability to work long hours, weekends and travel frequently
• Must have a valid drivers licence and own vehicle
• Health and safety experience, JOC, event risk management experience
• Open and friendly personality
• Detail oriented, deadline-driven, take pride in your work
