Parts Controller
Our client based in George is looking for a parts controller to join their team.
Responsibilities:- Ensure accuracy of physical vs theoretical stock levels.
- Ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Ensure that we have the right part at the right time in the right place.
- Ensure accuracy of stock binning process.
- Ensure stock bins are properly labelled at all times.
- Place purchase orders with parts OEM and other suppliers according to stock requirements.
- Ensure that parts price comparisons are done at least twice a year.
- Ensure that order deadline requirements are met to achieve lowest price.
- Ensure that courier costs are kept as low as possible.
- Receive all vendor deliveries and check against our purchase order – quantity and price.
- Receive and receipt parts delivered and process them on the OMNI operating system.
- Ensure that packing and picking of parts is done accurately.
- Ensure that buy-out parts are well controlled and invoiced ASAP after receipt.
- Work closely with the service advisor to prioritise the workshop parts job card requirements.
- Work closely with parts sales staff to ensure that we have optimum parts fill rates.
- Adhere to health and safety requirements.
- Arrange and manage all requested parts stock counts.
- Put action plans in place to do daily cycle counts.
- Ensure that the parts warehouse is neat and clean at all times.
- Ensure that the parts warehouse always meets all basic health and safety requirements.
- Ensure that the parts average costs on the OMNI operating system are accurate at all times.
- Ensure that minimum order quantities and re-order levels are captured for each stocked part.
- Work closely with the parts admin person to ensure that all paperwork requirements are according to standard and up to date.
- Ensure that new part numbers/names are captured on OMNI – after authorisation is obtained.
- Ensure that old part numbers no longer stocked are removed or marked as “inactive” on OMNI.
- Build relations with the OEM and other parts service providers.
- Ensure that parts RFC’s (return for credit) are well managed/ensure continuous follow-up.
- Wherever possible aged stock lists should be prepared and be communicated back to the original equipment supplier/inventory ageing reports should be frequently reviewed.
Requirements:- Must have matric (grade 12)
- Should have parts warehousing/ordering/picking and packing experience.
- Should have parts systems experience – order placing/receipting/stock management.
- Must have good communication skills – your customer’s are the workshop service advisor and parts sales team/they require the right part at the right time in the right place.
- Preferably have agricultural industry experience.
- Minimum should have motor industry parts experience.
- Should have a general understanding of health and safety requirements in a parts location facility.
