An exciting opportunity for a committed and dedicated professional to form part of our higher certificate in film, television and entertainment production. The successful candidate will prepare students to either continue their studies in the bachelor of motion picture medium program or to join the entertainment industry at assistant level. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate a willingness to embrace AFDA’s unique pedagogy which is the basis of the applied and integrated work simulated learning environment at AFDA.

Key functions:

• Devising termly timetables, assignments, course guides, lectures and associated assessment instruments in conjunction with their AFDA counterparts on other campuses
• Implementing and reviewing the above with the purpose of improvement
• Responsible for teaching and assessing course content/term
• Will be required to identify, appoint, brief and manage relevant industry ad hocs to facilitate workshops, master classes and exams
• Managing the day-to-day implementation of the programme, including venues, facilities and equipment management
• Preparing budgets and overseeing the acquisition of materials and equipment required for the implementation of the programme
• Adhering to the requirements of management structures that ensure the delivery and quality of the programme
• Draw on industry connections to set up Internships and work opportunities

Selection criteria:

• Preferably a degree
• Previous lecturing experience an advantage
• Track record of a minimum of five years as a producer in the television commercial, television series, feature film or documentary film industry
• Evidence of desire to teach
